Our facility is in search of a talented and passionate assistant to support our research team. We are a small group of professionals conducting experiments for a greater good. We want someone who shares our vision and brings an optimistic approach to their work.

All candidates should have at least a bachelor’s degree and one year’s experience working in a laboratory/research setting. A love of collaborative teamwork is a must, along with strong research, organization and written communication skills. Research Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily monitoring of subjects and record data.
  • Perform scholarly research for information upon request, using your knowledge of leading journals and databases to find the strongest and most relevant information.
  • Post ads and use appropriate measures to recruit new subjects.
  • Draft informed consent forms and waivers in adherence with ethical principles.
  • Write and organize interview questions.
  • Maintain documentation of all interviews, taking extra care to secure confidentiality.

  • Summarize all interviews and present them in a report to the research team.

  • Manage emails and respond as needed.

  • Purchase supplies for research upon request.

  • Ensure the office and lab area are always clean, organized and safe.

  • Prepare research materials.
  • Serve as a liaison between researchers and undergraduate students, maintaining records of their work and answering questions.

  • Analyze and summarize data into routine project update reports.
  • Manage all expenses related to the project and ensure the team stays within budget.

  • Transmit and code data into a computer system using appropriate protocol for future analyses.

  • Meet with potential subjects to explain the nature of the research they are interested in participating in, answer questions and conduct interviews based on approved protocol.
  • Prepare research data for publication in journals and presentations.

  • Conduct literature reviews to assist with research.

  • Gather and organize relevant materials and information for submission to granting and funding agencies.

  • Contribute to articles and serve as the leading editor and proofreader on all grant submissions, reports and manuscripts.

Research Assistant Requirements: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, psychology or related discipline; master’s students welcome.

  • A minimum of one year of experience working in a similar role.

  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and related software such as STATA and SAS.
  • Familiarity with research presentation and tools such as PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote and Tableau.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.

  • Exemplary written communication with refined grammar, spelling and syntax.
